Introduction

We, at Qarshi University believe in helping students to afford quality education and we recognize students at all levels of their educational journey. The scholarship policy aims to support deserving students and provide a holistic educational experience by acknowledging merit, need and talent.

 

Scope and Intent

This policy addresses following forms of scholarships that shall be offered to the students:

  1. Qarshi Organization Employee’s Children Scholarship
  2. MGS & Qarshi Care School Scholarship
  3. Merit-based Scholarship
  4. Talent-Based Scholarship  
  5. Need-Based/Orphan Scholarship
  6. Differently Abled Students Scholarship
  7. Sports Scholarship
  8. Legacy/Kinship Scholarship
  9. Alumni Scholarship (only for graduate programmes)
  10. Children of Shohada Scholarship

 

1- Qarshi Organization Employee’s Children Scholarship

 In recognition of services rendered by employees of Qarshi Organization, Qarshi University is providing generous scholarships to encourage their children to attain quality education with character building and marketable degrees.

Continuation Criteria

In order to retain this scholarship, the student is expected to maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.5 in semester system, and 50% in annual system. 

 

2- MGS & Qarshi Care School Scholarship

 Being a part of the Message Grammar School & Qarshi Care School, QU encourages the students for their student journey to professional careers. The details to acquire the scholarship is as follows:

Even if they don’t meet any of the criteria mentioned for any other scholarship offered by the Qarshi University.

In case of Qarshi Care School, even if the student has completed his/her intermediate or equivalent from any other institute providing proof of study from Qarshi Care School will make him/her eligible for attaining this scholarship.

Continuation Criteria

In order to retain this scholarship, the student is expected to maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.5 in semester system, and 50% in annual system.  

 

3- Merit-based Scholarship

 QU is committed to recognize and appreciate academic excellence. The objective of merit-based scholarship is to encourage students to set higher standards for themselves and get rewarded for their hard work. The details of the scholarship are as follows:

  1. Students shall avail the undergraduate merit-based scholarship based on their prior performance at the time of admission. The criteria and ranges of scholarship offered are:

  1. Students who were not granted a merit-based scholarship based on their performance prior to
    admission in QU can acquire the scholarship if they are able to achieve any of the CGPA
    criteria mentioned above in any semester.
  2. To avail any of the above merit scholarship in subsequent semesters, the required CGPA must be earned with a minimum workload of 12 credit hours.
  3. In annual system, to avail any of the above merit scholarship in subsequent professionals, the required marks % must be earned with successful completion of all subjects in first attempt.
  4. On the conclusion of a semester/annual, every student shall receive a grade report through Qarshi University Portal/hard copy of result card from controller of examination office.

 

4- Talent-Based Scholarship

QU encourages students to pursue and excel at endeavors beyond academics. Through this scholarship the university recognizes and nurtures the variety of talent that our students possess.

The details of the scholarship are:

  1. Up to 25% scholarship at the time of admission of the student applying for the Talent Based Scholarship.
  2. The decision of selecting students for the talent-based scholarship shall be made by the Scholarship Evaluation Committee. Office of Student Affairs (OSA) shall provide support to the Talent Based Scholarship holders in arranging events internally and also facilitate in external participation after evaluating the opportunity.

Continuation Criteria of the Talent-based Scholarship

  1. Performance evaluation of the students will be ascertained on the proof/evidence provided by the student to OSA.
  2. In order to retain this scholarship, the student is expected to maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.5 in semester system, and 50% in annual system.
  3. The selected students must participate in events and activities as per the directions from
    Office of Student Affairs, as and when required for internal or external purposes.
  4. It shall be mandatory for the students to register him/herself in the relevant society/club and
    actively participate in its events and activities. OSA will be consulting the society leadership
    teams on regular basis to ensure this.
  5. Student contributions may include external participation in events, representing QU on
    external platforms, relevant society events, reaching out to other students and help them learn
    the Talent/Skill/Subject, arranging events inside campus for QU students etc.
  6. Scholarship holders will adhere to all university rules, policies and procedures with no exception.
  7. It is the responsibility of the student to actively seek opportunities to participate in event ensure he/she is engaged in activities throughout the year.
  8. Student must improve, show and share progress in the Skill/Talent/Subject they shared a time of admission and evaluation interview.
  9. OSA reserves the right to conduct periodic reviews to ensure the award is granted to the students
    pursuing their ambitions and are moving in the right direction.
  10. Scholarship holders should also ensure that they contribute positively to the QU community by regularly conducting sessions, talks or seminars to guide students who are interested in learning the Skill/Talent/Subject.
  11. OSA shall revise/update the list of preferred Skill/Talent/Subject each year keeping in view the
    replacement of graduated/graduating scholarship awardees and include emerging fields.

Reevaluation of the Talent-based Scholarship of already enrolled students

  1. Scholarship will be open to students who have mastered a Skill/Talent/Subject during their stay
    at QU, demonstrated their contributions and feel that they are now eligible for this scholarship at the end of every year. This will also include students who missed out the opportunity to appear in front of the evaluation committee at the time of admission.
  2. In order to retain this scholarship, the student is expected to maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.5 in semester system, and 50% in annual system.
  3. Students will be required to submit a performance report each semester/year as per the specified format provided by OSA.
  4. Scholarship will be reassessed each academic year based upon the demonstrated student activity
  5. It is the responsibility of the student to provide the necessary documentation or proof of activity after each semester/year or the deadline set by OSA.
  6. Students shall be evaluated as per the criteria mentioned on Form which includes
    Contribution/Collaboration to QU, following instructions of OSA, improvement in
    Skill/Talent/Subject, External Participation, Behavior/Conduct and Networking.
  7. Individual files of students will be maintained by the OSA in which all records of the student activities will be placed as and when received.

 

5- Need-based/Orphan Scholarship

Qarshi University financial need-based/orphan scholarship is to support deserving students who are unable to pay their fee in full, in receiving high quality education in collaboration with Qarshi Foundation.

  1. The award shall be based on thorough evaluation of applications by an independent committee which shall assess candidates’ financial need and aspirations.
  2. Students aspiring to attain the need-based/orphan scholarship shall be referred to Qarshi Foundation office after filling in the Need Based/Orphan Scholarship Form available at QU Admission Office.
  3. Admission officer will assist the students to complete the documentation required by the Qarshi Foundation and acquire remarks of relevant HoD & recommendation of VC on the given form.
  4. Student will be directed to Qarshi Foundation office for submission of complete documents.
  5. Qarshi Foundation’s terms & conditions applied.

Continuation Criteria of the Financial Need-based/Orphan Scholarship

  1. Subsequent continuation of the scholarship will be a total discretion of Qarshi Foundation as per their laid down criteria.
  2. Qarshi University refrains itself from influencing Qarshi Foundation in its related affairs.

 

6-Scholarship for Differently Abled Students

 QU believes in supporting students who are differently abled. Through this scholarship the university aims to ensure equal access of educational opportunities to all students. The details are:

  1. To be eligible for the scholarship the student shall provide the Disability Certificate certified by the medical board of Government hospital with their application
  2. Differently abled students shall be eligible for a (25% -50%) scholarship at the time of admission in Qarshi University degree programs based on the decision of a committee
  3. In order to retain their scholarship, the student shall be expected to maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.5 in semester system, and 50% in annual system

 

7-Sports Scholarship (National/International Under 19 Players 100 % & Provincial 50%)

 QU is dedicated towards supporting athletic students who aspire to compete at the highest levels within their chosen sport. The university facilitates these students with academic flexibility and financial relief to help them attain their goals with ease.

Sports Scholarship Selection

  1. The pre-admissions selection procedures shall be conducted by the OSA at QU.

  1. In order to retain this scholarship, the student is expected to maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.5 in semester system, and 50% in annual system.
  2. Students shall participate in the Qarshi University sports events, intercollegiate sports events and HEC interuniversity sports championships and events.
  3. It shall be mandatory for the students to register him/herself in the relevant society/club and
    actively participate in its events and activities.

 

8- Legacy/Kinship Scholarship

 QU feels pride in the fact that families have chosen to pursue their education from the university. To encourage them to continue choosing QU, we offer the legacy/kinship scholarship to the siblings of existing students or QU graduates. The details are:

  1. All siblings of an existing student or QU graduates shall be granted 25% off their fees per sibling, upon admission in an undergraduate and graduate degrees.
  2. In order to retain this scholarship, the student is expected to maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.5 in semester system, and 50% in annual system.

  

9- QU Alumni Scholarship

QU offers graduate scholarship to its alumni to encourage their further studies. Qarshi University graduates who wish to take admission in Master programs will be awarded a scholarship of 25% on their tuition fee for the first semester only.

10- Children of Shohada Scholarship

QU believes in supporting students who are children of Shohada to pay a tribute to the sacrifices offered for the nation by their shaheed parents. 

At the time of Admission

  1. Children of Shohada seeking to get admission in QU shall be eligible for a 50% scholarship at the time of admission in degree programs.

Continuation Criteria

  1. In order to retain their scholarship, the student shall be expected to maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.5 in semester system, and 50% in annual system.

Important Note:

  • Scholarship percentage will only be applicable on tuition fee. They are not applicable on admission fee or any other charges of the University unless specifically stated.
  • In case a student is eligible for more than one scholarship whichever is higher shall be applicable.
  • The recipients of all scholarships shall adhere to all university rules, policies and procedureswith no exception. The university withholds the right to revoke any of the scholarships in case of breach of any disciplinary rules and regulations.
  • The Scholarship will be awarded only within normal degree duration and is not applicable on extra semester(s)/professional year for whatsoever reasons.
  • No Scholarship is applicable on a repeat course or a course registered for improvement.
  • The University, vide its discretionary power, has the authority to change the definition or percentage of any Scholarship, with the approval of the competent authority and it shall be binding on all scholarship holders.
  • Student convicted by the Disciplinary Committee will be ineligible for any Scholarship.
  • This scholarship policy is applicable from Fall 2023, new admission intake and onwards till further orders of revision.
