Bachelors of Eastern Medicine and Surgery (BEMS), five years degree program run by Qarshi University Lahore is:

  • 1) Approved by Higher Education Commission
  • 2) Recognized/Registered by the National Council for Tibb (NCT)

The Initiative of incorporating traditional medicine in primary health has been taken by World Health Organization (WHO) to improve health care services delivery globally. BEMS degree is a new milestone and supreme degree representing traditional medication in Pakistan which is designed to upgrade natural medicine through modern and traditional knowledge and skill development on the basis of advance research. Qarshi University is playing a key role in producing accomplished natural medicine practitioners to meet the national goals in health sector and to revive our indigenous way of medication which is the need of the hour and remained first choice treatment for our local community.

Eligibility Criteria

F.Sc. Pre-Medical, A-Level or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks.

Laboratory

Our laboratories are the best for research and analysis. Our Biochemistry, Physiology, Pharmacy, Microbiology and Herbarium are well equipped with state of the art laboratory equipments and chemicalsLibrary

For any seat of Learning, Higher or Basic, a library is its heart and soul. Apart from 20,000 Books and Journals, Qarshi University has access to a digital library (with the support of HEC) to meet the students’ needs of 21st century.

Clinical Training

Clinical training of the students starts from 3rd year of their study, under close supervision of Medical Doctors and qualified Hakeems. Following institutions / setups are available for clinical training of the students.

  • Qarshi Hospital
  • Affiliated Hospitals for BEMS Training – Hijaz Hospital, Sureyya Azeem Teaching Hospital etc.
  • Qarshi Tibbi Dispensaries / Qarshi Tibbi Clinics / Qarshi Mother and Child Health Care Muridke.

BEMS House Job Program

BEMS graduates are offered One year PAID house job in Qarshi University and Tibbi Clinics. On the basis of this house job BEMS graduates eligible for registration with National Council for Tibb (NCT). During house job training, the house officers perform rotational duties in the following departments.

  1. Medicine Emergency                     3. Surgery                           4. Gynae & Obs.
    • Eye & ENT Paediatrics                     7. Urology                           8. Tibbi Clinics and Dispensaries

Here, top professors and expert clinicians practically teach and guide the house officers about the art of treating the patients. As a result, at the end of training period, these house officers are fully trained to work independently in any setup.
